The land of uncertainty..
Survivors live in the land of uncertainty. We have to learn to adjust our lives to never having definitive answers, to never having permanent resolution, to never having clarity. At the beginning, it feels that it will be impossible or too torturous to live this way. But then we meet other survivors, talk with counselors and mental health professionals, seek out spiritual guidance, open our hearts, and try to find peace in a private way that works best for us. No one is more surprised than we are when we turn out to be more resilient, more courageous, more resourceful than we ever thought possible. This is the light that gets us through.
Touched by Suicide Hope and Healing After Loss by Michael F. Myers, M.D. and Carla Fine **************** This is so true..I'm not sure when "WHY?" lost it importance for me but I am surprised occasionally by things that cross my mind...like Google Michaels fiancee and see what she has done with her life these past 20 years. :o |
Had a good support meeting last night...it always "stirs" me up to talk about Michael but it stirs me in a good way. *grin
