Limactal?

Hi all,

So Lindsay's primary doc today, said she was doing some research on RSD... Finally after 6 years...and suggested that we talk to her pm about Limactal. Any advice? Anyone used it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

:hug:Sandy

I take Lamictal, but I take it as one of my meds for bipolar. Made me gain alot of weight, but helps stabalize my moods. It is also used to control seizures & things like that. You have to look out for a rash in the 1st few months. It can cause a life threatening condition called Stevens Johnson Syndrome. I've read about SJS and it looks horrible!!!

So, after six years all the doc can come with is Lamicta? Ask her; in all of her research into RSD what else does she have in her arsenal.

Hi JimKing,

Thanks for the laugh, I know, I feel the same way. She is fine on the cymbalta...Also, this from the doc that has told her so many times to "Suck it up!" And also said it was in her head and she was seeking attention...You don't have to tell me. :D

I cant believe her doctor treats her like that & is so ignorant.....definately time for a new doctor.....that doc is not going to help her if they dont even think RSD is real.

You are right, I know that. She is only her pediatrician. She is one of many in the practice. She only goes to her for sore throat, etc...I have had my run ins with her in the past. She doesn't manage anything for her. After Lindsay's hospital stay this time, I said something to the doctor at the hospital that insisted that all of her doctors keep in touch with each other and discuss her medical treatment. I kind of went off on her. Told her that after 6 years of trying to get that to happen, maybe she should talk to her primary and make it happen. I think that something was said and some research is being done. One good thing is that my girl will be 18 in May and she can transfer to an adult doctor, we are biding our time, trust me. I am so sick of the ignorance out there.

Thank you for your post firegirl. I should have had that name the day I went off at the hospital. :D
