Can Anyone Get To A Aerobic Walk?
Hi,
I just want and need my life back. I ran over 2 miles the day before this hell struck my life. Even though my pain levels are down I feel so weak. Very off balance. I feel if I could walk fast for at 10 minutes a day it could help. But I get so light headed and dizzy, I have fallen. Which put me into the OR agan. I was wondering if anyone can walk fast. Hugs, Roz |

hi roz :)
start in the house. even if you have to just walk up and down the hall. start slow and see how it goes. how is your blood pressure? it might be dropping when you start exercising (faster walking). a drop in blood sugar can do this too. |
Hi Victoria,
You are a riot (funny). I just bought a Tai Chi as well. Hugs, Roz |
Hi Curious,
I do check my blood pressure with a monitor.;) But what does not make sense to me is when my blood pressure goes up my pulse is normal. When my pulse goes up my blood pressure is normal. I was put on heart meds. a while back but everything bottomed out. That's why I am not sure if a microcirculation issue is going on. Now, a MD has suggested heart meds., but I really am frighten to take them. You are always such a joy here. I could never thank you enough. Hugs, Roz |
hi again roz :D
no chest pains or anxiety when it happens? my aunt has mitro valve prolapse. it only ever bothered her is she over exerted herself. hehehe...i love my yoga for dummies tape. hugs back  ty for the wonderful compliment. |
In PT, they had me get on the elliptical machine and told me NOT to use the arms, but to hold on to the stationary grips in the middle. I like it because its very low impact, and i can go for 25-30 minutes at a time. just my 2 cents.

now my 2 cents!!
I can ride a recumbent bike, I have gotten up to 45 minutes once or twice... I keep having set backs, right now I am just up to 15 minutes...
It's the easiest for me so far, treadmill makes me dizzy, I'd probably fall of the elliptical machine :thud:  G~ :) |
Not me. a brisk walk is all I can do, and I have to start out cold (no warm up). If I warm up first, then walk, I swell up faster and have to stop sooner. I'll start with a brisk walk and then back it down to a stroll, always focusing on posture. I can only do 1 mile and not daily.
Great stress reliever! Anne |
go slow
Buckwheat,
Before I had my surgery I didn't feel I could do much walking. But now I'm not so bad. I started off very slow, like 10 minutes a day and just kept adding 5 minintes every couple of weeks until I worked up. I find walking helps my pain alot. Standing up straight and taking in some deep breathes while walking, just feels good, especially when I am all done and know I have accomplished it. I walk now 7 miles 3-4 times a week. If you though are on a lot of meds, be careful. Especially if you are having dizziness. Just take things slow. Your not out to run a race. Peggy |
