Therapy recommendation?

Hi,

Does anyone know a therapist in the central/south New Jersey area that understands TOS?

One that won't push strenghtning and uses ultra-sound?

Thank you,

"In addition, he suggests, the doctor of chiropractic can do a first-rib adjustment to create space so that the plexus isn't compressed. "You can also do some cross-cord exercises, making the contralateral scalenes contract and the muscles of the other side relax. Myofascial active release is also effective."

Anyone have tried a "first-rib adjustment"?

Thanks for finding that link & site- I'll add it to our useful sticky thread.

my chiro does the "first-rib adjustment" when I need it.
At first it was quite often, but now only if I have done some intensive uses and over did it. I can feel the tension creeping into that area.

I don't think doing "first-rib adjustment" alone is the secret, if the muscles are still tight and pulling on the structures they will just go out of place again, same with most other adjustments.

The muscles/spasms and any trigger points need to be addressed - along with adjustments.
And the longer your symptoms have been around the longer it takes to rework and retrain the body to the better.

I still go once a month for a tune up by my chiro since mid 2004, long term maintenance.
