Sad situation

Just got back from a prayer gathering at our church on behalf of an elderly lady from a nearby town who has been missing for a week, most likely abducted from her home. My heart aches for her family. I can't even imagine what they must be going through.

Oh, B2Y, that is terrible. WHAT makes people do these things to others? I'll never, ever understand it. The elderly woman and her family will be in my prayers. Please keep us updated on the situation.

It's not looking hopeful. It's not hard to read between the lines of the official statements.

Whether it's to be a joyful reunion or a time of mourning, I pray that the family will not have to suffer through this time of not knowing much longer.

What kind of a sick mind would do such a thing? How horrible for everyone involved. Prayers for strength and peace no matter what the outcome....how sad.

Any update, B2Y? Have they found the missing person? It's so scary when anyone is missing but an elderly person is so vulnerable and sometimes helpless. If they are just "lost" I pray they encounter a kind person who will help them.

Unfortunately, she has not yet been found.

The state police are not giving details as to why she is considered to have been abducted, but there is no indication that she merely wandered away or got lost hiking.

She is 78, active in the community, a kayaker, etc. She was reported missing last Saturday morning when she wasn't home when a friend stopped to pick her up for a meeting.

The police are operating under the assumption that she was forced from her home against her will.

Unfortunately, it's usually someone who they know and don't feel threatened by. We had a similar situation here in Georgia.....it was the elderly man's grandson! He knew his Grandpa had money......and wanted it. Very sad situation but the man did survive his abduction because he was in such good physical shape. Hopefully that will be the same for the lady in your community. Still praying. :smileypray:

Oh dear B2U. I pray she'll be found alive and well, but with every passing day........... :(

Do let us know if you hear anything.
