The hormonal connection

I have noticed no symptoms especially when taking supplements that increase IGF-1 and/or growth hormone. In fact, I have been taking Colostrum from Symbiotics and have found better sleep and feeling pretty vigorous. Colostrum is what mamma cows give to their young to stimulate fast growth. It strengthens the immune system as well. This supplement is all natural, no Rbst. Wondering how much the hormonal connection has been explored? Especially poor Adrenal Function and Low Testosterone? I know alot of the tests conventional medicine gives you are weak detectors at best.

Gonna bump on this as I think its important. Has anyone else tried Colostrum? This stuff is amazing. In fact some people get IVIG for neuropathy. I think this does the same thing plus helps any kind of muscle pain or weakness. Mrs. D?

Update on the OSR#1 . It was very powerful and felt good and bad on it. I stopped it about half way thru on concerns it wasn't necessary and may be overworking things. I just take R-ALA, NAC, Wheatgrass and Fulvic Zeolite for detox now.

I don't think Colostrum works really. I tried it many years ago and it made me very ill...GI upsets... I returned it for refund at the store.

The purpose of the colostrum is to prime the GI tract for food.
Human breast milk is colostrum for the first couple of days too.

Infants (cows or people) have undeveloped GI tracts and colostrum serves a definite purpose then. But studies are really lacking that it does anything much for adults.

Basically when a supplement type has been around for a LONG time like colostrum has, if it does not show distinct proveable benefits during this time, it is probably not going to. A great supplement gives great results, which can be measured in some way. (Mannatech products I believe fall into the UNmeasurable category as well).

I stay away from iffy things. If you have a real testosterone deficiency, then DHEA or treatment with the hormone from a doctor is the best way to go. You can have blood work to show a deficiency in testosterone. Men on chronic opiate therapy develop low pituitary functions and often use testosterone gels.
Another cause of low testosterone expression, is a lack of the blood proteins that carry it around the body. Low protein intake is the most common cause of this, and occurs as men age.
Some studies show whey protein in the form of shakes helps with this. (one cause of low protein is low acid in the stomach which may be related to using acid reducing drugs). If there is no acid, then the protein you eat is not digested properly --and the whey helps with this because it is pre-digested.

OSR #1 is very controversial, and this article states, has been taken off the market!

The too little acid in stomach probably suits my scenario. Was on Prevacid for a number of years. Feel solid after a whey shake. Also feel great after anything that stimulates growth hormone-Colostrum, Ecklonia Cava, Mucuna Pruriens, Standard Process products. Colostrum hurt for the first day for me too by the way. It is supposed to heal the digestive tract. After the 3rd day, I felt great. Alot of people talk about Neuropathy affecting their gi tract. Many people can't drink alcohol as it exacerbates their symptoms. Alcohol aggravates and worsens ulcer. These things are supposed to increase gi tract healing times and by that mechanism may have a positive impact for people with Neuropathy. I have felt a definite boost in sleep and pain tolerance level. In fact, the 8 hours after I take Colostrum are pain free.

In regards to Testosterone and Adrenals, I have found the Ayurvedic herb Ashwaghanda to be the most effective antioxidant, strength giving, stress reducing supplement I have ever tried. Also increases memory, endurance and reduces Cortisol all the while balancing the HPA axis. Taken daily is supposed to lengthen Telomeres and extend life as well. I am leary of most Pharma drugs as they contain too many side effects and usually lead to you taking more Pharma drugs because of problems with one. For real Testosterone deficiency, the mushroom Cordyceps or herb Tribulis Terestris are ultra-effective and non-toxic.

Yes, the OSR got pulled by the Federal Delinquent Administration(FDA). But, I don't trust the FDA as far as I can throw them. Allowing dangerous Genetically Modified Organisms into our food supply and toxic bandaid drugs to replace real solution based medicine is a crime in my book. This organization is run by people from Monsanto and Big Pharma. That being said, unless you are really sick or toxic, OSR#1 isn't needed.

On this hormonal issue, I was led to a Human Growth Hormone homeopathic gel by my daughter who has been using it over 3 months now and I'm into 21 days and feeling subtle changes. Taking less melatonin for sleep or none in my combo, less thryoid support as HGH addresses thyroid and adrenals.

Back when I was about 60 an integrative MD tried to sell me on HGH injections and I didn't "buy" it then. I've dabbled in otc HGH products with no success.

But I'm going to give this homeopathic HGH a good 3 month trial. My body is older and gone thru some messy surgeries and living with arthritis. So I'm willing to spend some money on this HGH...I do believe in homeopathy....like cures like.

If you want to hear more DM me.
