I gotta ask..

I hate to imply that I may have more RSD involvement..but anyone can shed some light on RSD in the chest wall?? Are symptoms such as chest pain when breathing and happen at any time with zero exertion?? AND sharp pain?? See I have an already exisiting heart aliment but my cardiac Dr. seems to think it may be RSD in the chest wall...bracial plexis, Dr. S did identify that with me last March..So off for a chemical stresstest next Friday..that baby takes 5 hrs...

Much love to you all..

Dearest Kathy, You have nothing to apologize asking about!! Obviously you have something serious to worry about. I am worried for you. Very glad you are getting stresstest Friday.
One of our closest friends that visits every year from Oregon works at a hospital and preforms those tests and reads them. I will ask and get back with you. He has done a lot of research on RSD since I've had it.
I have internal RSD and have HOTskin temperature in my chest area. It feels like 105 degrees. Am checking into a method of taking temperature of my skin. Glad you are seeing a cardiologist and checking that out Friday. Please know we are all thinking of you and care about you very much. You are a precious family member here. Will get back with you after I talk to our medical friend. Lots of soft hugs, loretta:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Hi Kathy,

My Lindsay has it in her chest wall. They kept tell her it was costrocondritis, but Dr. Kirkpatrick finally diagnosed it in the chest wall. I am so sorry honey. I know how painful that can be. I hope that things get better soon.

Hi Kathy,

You could also have Costocondritis in the chest area. Fibromyalgia messes with the chest area also. Alao RSD. Lots of choices.

I went trough the test about 5 yrs ago. I was put on Vioxx and did it do a job on me? I had a heart attack and stroke from taking it. They discontinued it but like my Pharmacist said, they left Celebrex out there which is the same thing as the Vioxx.

I have a Cardiogist I see but I cannot do those heart meds. Horrible headaches from it. I keep the nitro around.

Like you though I do have trouble distinguishing between the RSD and heart issues but see my PCP enough that he can help me figure it out.

I have gotten triggerpoint injections in my chest area. My PCP does them. If I've had one I've had 1000's and they do work. I just got some in my pelvic area yesterday. The surgery I had worked on the outside but not the inside.

I had all of the test for my heart. 2 where they go up in the groin and look on that tv as I call it. If they are doing what they need to do for the heart then chances are you are dealing with RSD or something else in that chest area. It took us years to get mine calmed down. PT and TPI's were what helped me. The PTers did massage on my chest wall to help stretch the muscles and loosen me up in the chest area.

I hope it calms down for you soon.

Ada

Dear Kathy, so sorry you are having to deal with yet another problem, when will it end? I too have those same problems that you stated, I also have high blood pressure 190/100 on average and that is on 4 BP meds. How is your pressure? Glad to hear you are having the test on Friday, and everything goes well
Good Luck, Your Friend Wendy

Re/I gotta ask..

Kathy,I also get a sharp pain,in the same place that you are talking about! However mine does increase for some reason when I bring my right knee up to my chest? The strange thing is that I have very low blood pressure? Some time's at my Dr's they can not even find my pulse? It is sure very scary when it does happen! If it does continue to really be a problem,I will have to bring it up with my Dr. Please take care of your self! Always Breezy55 :grouphug:

dang skippee...you all just float my boat!! I am so touched by all of your sweet replies and concern for me..Iam so appreciative ..so appreciative... to answer your questions..typically my blood pressure was never a problem..esp. prior to RSD but lately..it runs normal to low.. last reading was 100/60.. they said we'll be watching it.. if I could bottle your caring words and put them straight into my heart, I'd be the bionic woman.. I am so blessed having you as my family.. Whatever I can do for any of you..never hesitate to ask me....

Hi keep smiling,
I had a change on my ekg tracings (T wave depressions), prior to CRPS but nothing to write home about. Since my second surgery to my hand in Feb., 2010, and before I knew I had CRPS, I've had chest pain, shortness of breath and was given an ekg heart monitor to wear for a month because I would get dizzness, chest pressure and short of breath, also with zero exertion. I've also had two chemical stress test done with unremarkable results. So far no one has said anything about CRPS being the cause. Rather was told that my problem was from all the medications I've been taking was causing the chest pain, and was given protonax. Like you I didn't want to go cryinig wolf, but I believe that the CRPS has everything to do with it. All my labs BMP, CBC, etc., came back great, but my blood pressure (hypertenion) is out of control!

I hope someone here comes along that is a lot more knowledgable about this than I am, so you can get your question answered. But I've had the same symptoms that you are having.

It will be a treadmill stress test and the medication injected will make you feel like there is pressure on your chest. But just try to do the best you can on the treadmill...hang in there and let them know if you are getting dizzy, light headed or can't go on. They will take your blood pressure, and your heart will be monitored by a doctor will while your on the treadmill. You might have a radiology test before the Thailum stress test and one after if my memory is up to speed. Good luck and please let us know how things turn out.
