computers make me nuts

 okay, we all know that, on the information superhighway, i'm a six-car smash up, but this is making me crazy....everyone else seems to have it figured!

HOW do u get the little "thanks" message to appear after a post?....i've tried clicking on the 'thx' icon in the message, but nothing happens.....WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!?!?!

could someone please explain how to do this?....thx!

Liz,

Just click on the thanks button and you should see your name in the box under the post.

Good Luck

:)

Sounds like you're doing it right, Liz, clicking the thanx icon in their post - have you tried reloading the page to see if your thanx appears at the bottom of the post - your browser may not be set to bring up the page afresh every time you visit it, so if you're just clicking the "go back" icon, you'll see the page as it was before you clicked the button...you can change your browser options to reload the page fresh every time, if you want..
all the best :)

huh?

AARRRGGHH!!!!!.....i tried clicking on the 'thx' icon and as usual, nothing happens....so then i thought that maybe if i refreshed the page?....still nothing .....then i figured that i would have to sign out and sign on again......no, that didn't work....so i tried closing down and rebooting which didn't help either so i am fresh out of ideas now.

i am NOT paranoid......machines really do hate me!

Hon, just click on the "Thanks" icon, then click on "Post Reply."

After that, go up top to the NeuroTalk Communities > Health Conditions M - Z > Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy > linky thingy and click on the Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy > part. It will bring you back to the whole list of topics. If you click back on that post (or if you try it HERE, click on THIS topic), you will see the thanks :)

I tried it under yours, to be sure it worked. If it worked, you will see a "thanks" I posted to you.

Hi Liz,

I'm right there with you in the computer department. I try not to try anything to strenious on my brain because it makes me crazy. LOL

Dustin downloaded the songs for me yesterday that they played at Bill's funeral so we could listen to them. I tried several times and just gave up.

I walk away now from the computer if I get too stressed over it.

I have wanted to put my picture back on here but I have a feeling if I try I wouldn't have any hair left.

Have a great day, Liz and Barb.

Hmm -on my Mozilla foxfire browser and the way i have it set up - as soon as i click the Thanks button- it pops the box right below the post with the Thanks showing.

Do other peoples Thanks show for you?

i tested it on Ada s post - does that one show up?

and if you do a thanks and then come back to it later does your Thanks show then?

Jomar 02-15-2007 11:28 AM

Ada - Kimmydawn- would be able to put your picture on for you I think.
You have to send her the picture- or she can make a pretty avatar for you. PM her and ask.

we need a little smiley banging its head against the wall!

thx all for trying to help.. :grouphug: ..i think this may be a lost cause for me.
