My trip to Chicago

My husband went on business to attend a show and I went with him for a little vacation. It was the first time I have been there so, I walked... and walked...

I went to the Art Institute of Chicago, The Field Museum and did a few other things. I even took the Bus a few times.

My feet are worse for wear. I wore my walking shoes but still managed to get some blisters and my fourth toe on the right is numb. I feel like I am walking on a ball of paper.

But, I did see so many truly awesome things. And, I would do it again!

Well done Mere, sometimes I opt out of things now just because the aftermath is too painful but that sounded really worth it.
you have inspired me, I've decided to live for the moment and to hang with the consequencies.:highfive

Hello,
So glad you made the trip, a fifty year reunion is planned in Las Vegas in November, I really want to go but the idea of going thru Dulles air port the plane trip would probably put me in bed the whole time being there. The trip to the clinic every month leaves me drained for a couple of days. Even having a caregiver, walker, wheelchair, cane depresses me just thinking about it, so will play it safe and just make some phone calls to some old friends during the event. Life sucks having this crud.

I know what you mean... before the trip I kept thinking about what I would do if I got sick. I had just been getting over a bad SI joint flare (I have ankylosing spondylitis). But you know? It all worked out... But you do know what is best for you...

Good for you, Mere! Sometimes it pays to just do it. Glad you had a great time and actually went around the city to see some of the highlights.

I have also and I really think you should go... Many, many things to see. The Impressionist galleries were abundant to say the least. The art collection in its entirety was amazing but also they had miniature rooms - 68 in total. I was in awe.

My cat pic is one from the web, but looks like my little Riva baby doll. She is such a dear and is so attached to me (which I just love).

I love Ikea... when I worked, there was one built just down the street about one mile away. It took a lot of willpower not to go and spend my earnings every week...
