Any UK forum members know good supplements to take?

Hi

I've been noticing advice on here to take B6, B12, D3, omega 3, folic acid and anti oxidents. I've never taken supplements before but this PCS is tough and I feel I need to boost my system. Do any of you know brands worth checking out that are sold here in the UK?

My husband takes Berocca daily. It's a multiple supplement and desptie his encourgement I haven't taken it as I don't want to OD on vits etc that are not useful to aid my recovery.

Thanks. Hope you're having a good day.

hi abi yes take all the supplements listed b6 complex and omega 3 a must in my opinion ,but check with your gp if in doubt tesco or any super market will be ok and cheaper than herbal shops your body will only use what it needs vitamin wise but it needs a ready supply at hand welcome &
best wishes

Supplements

Hi Ali,

In addition to the ones that you mention, you might want to check out magnesium and branch chained amino acids (BCAA). The main ones that I took were these two, omega3 in the form of cod liver oil, a multivitamin and vitamin C. I think that it's probably a good idea to eat quite a bit also, especially protein. (I haven't done a scientific study on any of this. This is just what I think might be help for me.)

I am also from the UK, but I don't have any great retail outlets to mention. I just went to Boots for some and bought the others online. I didn't find a good source of BCAAs in the UK so I just bought it from the US online. I had to pay a certain percentage in import tax but I think that it's worth it. It still didn't come to that much if you get it as a powder. It tastes really bad though.

For the Omega-3 I just used the higher omega 3 concentration of Cod Liver Oil. I think that works out as the cheapest and best option.
