It never fails...

We're still doing our remodeling project. Just once, I'd like to have work done on our house get done without some sort of drama involving massive amounts of water or bloodletting. (well, there was no bloodletting...yet)

Painters have been here all week, putting up fresh paint on our walls...it looks great.

Last room they did was the laundry room. They moved the washing machine...and apparently disconnected a few things when they did that. They got the water hooked back up, but apparently they forgot the drain.

So, you can imagine what happened when my mom started washing clothes about 20 minutes after the painters left. At least the laundry room floor is sparkling clean now. (there was still soap in the water when it started leaking onto the floor)

Good thing tho, mom's washing machine is one of those that only uses about 5 or 6 gallons of water when washing. So, when the water went thru the a/c vent in the floor and came out thru the a/c vent and the light fixtures in the room below there wasnt that much water getting dumped thru.

I'm glad the contractor came out in a big hurry to our house and helped clean up the water. He's going to have to come back and fix the lights that water got into, and probably have the painters come and paint the ceiling and walls in the room that got water damaged. (which was the only room not involved in the remodel, guess it is now)

But, really, do we always have to have something dramatic go totally wrong EVERY TIME we do a remodel?? Just once, I'd like something to go smoothly!

My dad is at least happy that the floor in the laundry room is sparkling clean. We may have to use laundry soap in the mop water next time it gets mopped (which will probably be the next time the washer leaks onto the floor) We didnt realize the vinyl floor in there was white. We thought it was kind of a dirty yellowish color. Kind of a complicated and messy way to mop the floor.

Maybe they thought you needed to wash the walls after they left. :p

Glad they came back to fix it.

Did you read your own signature, silly girl? You've jinxed yourself. Better remove it and put up a pretty flower, instead.:D

I havent jinxed myself. Someone else did it to me, and I cant get it off. Soap wont wash the jinx off.

It is not about what "It" is. It is about how the individual approaches it. I have been without a fridge for over a week (its comes today- yay) and was without cable (TV and internet) for about 36 hours. I never felt jinxed! I just felt like another adult in this world playing the cards I was dealt. As long as 'it' is not a major health setback, I have learned to be so very grateful!!!

My shower door is supposed to be here on monday. Finally! The shower itself has been finished for about a month now. They apparently had problems while making the shower door. Some problem with tempering the glass.

My door gets installed on monday, I have to let everything sit for 24 hours to let all the sealant stuff around the door to cure, and then I should be able to use my shower by wednesday.

Then they should be building my mom's shower, and I get to hear my mom complain about my shower or how long it's taking to build hers. (shouldnt take as long as mine did, as long as there are no problems with making her shower doors...hope I didnt just jinx it) She's getting more tile than mine did. (bigger shower, plus they're tiling the entire bathroom floor AND her walk-in closet floor)

I cant wait till they're done with my mom's bathroom remodel. Because then we get to change out the carpeting in the entire house...and then we're done with the remodels.
