My husband was recently diagnosed with diabetes. Last Monday I called his dr office because of increased thirst/urinating and some blurred vision. They did the A1C and told me to make an appt. The woman at the front desk is a "I run everything" type person and wouldnt allow him to be seen before today (at 3:30). The nurse called and said his test was "very high" but didnt give me the number. On Saturday he got very dizzy and I took him to a walk in clinic. Told them what was going on....he had no monitor/meds as of this point because we had to wait for the appt. Their monitor read "HI" and the monitor goes from 10 to 600 so all we know is it was above 600. The dr was great with him gave him metformin and a monitor to get us through until we see the dr. His lowest number was a fasting number of 282. Hes mostly running between 450 and 590 (except his fasting number). I wanted to stop in and say hi because I am sure that there will be alot of questions about this.

He is not a computer person so that is why I am posting for him.

UPDATE:
His A1C # was 12. The dr put him on Novolog 70/30 and will see him again on Thursday. The pharmacy didnt have any syringes so we have to wait until tomorrow to start it. The dr was hopeful that we can use this to get it down and then go on pill form to control it after that. Hopefully this will work and he wont have to be on insulin for to long but if it doesnt thats ok too as long as he gets better.
