Easy way to take meds with you when u leave the house....

I read a post earlier where someone mentioned how hard it is to leave the house with all our medications. Even if you have a big purse, when you are on about 15 medications, you can't fit all those bottles in there. So, I wanted to share with y'all what I do. I carry these little clear bags I got from the drug store. They are called Ezy Dose Pill Pouch. I write the name of the med & dosage on the bags. I use two different pharmacies, and one of them the labels easily peel off the bottle. The ones that will peel off in one piece, I put the label on the bag. It makes things so much easier & I always have my meds on me. I only put 3 or 4 of each med in the bags in case my purse gets stolen or something. This way I have 15 little baggies that I just put in a pocket in my purse. The only problem I have thought of with doing things this way is if for some reason a cop ever searched me & saw the bags & think I am a drug dealer or something. That's why I try to put the pharmacy labels on as many of the bags I can. The ones without labels, I write the name of the med & dosage. I also always carry in my purse a little calendar book that lists all my meds & emergency medical info & I record what time I take each med every day. So, I could probably show them that & that may help. If I did ever find a cop that tried to arrest me or something, I could get verification from my doc that I do take all these meds & any charges would be thrown out. Not all the meds I keep in there are meds people tend to abuse. There is even OTC stuff like Tylenol & Immodium in there. I find that every time I dont have a med with me, it's just my luck that will be the one I need. I have tried the plastic pill containers & they just take up way too much room & will spill out. I hope this idea helps someone because it has really helped me be organized & always have my meds on me.....just keep an eye on your purse so nobody steals it.

Just a quick warning about carying your meds in the baggies or a med box... I once treated a 3 year old who got into grandmas purse and took all her "candy". Not much fun for any of us involved, yes she was eventally ok, yes we had to make her vomit, yes we had to give her charcol. Just use care PLEASE
