Dvd question

Okay, all you learned people, (today's my birthday) so SOMEBODY help me with this thing.

I have a chance to get this item for nothing.

FREE. Not this particular item on the internet but the exact same thing.
Look at this DVD player

http://www.google.com/products/catal...&os=tech-specs

Now this is what I can get completely free. I joined something and you get to pick an item and I need a DVD player. And it know this is junk, but it's free and I can get to play my AVATAR DVD.

So if you scroll down and see the connection things, this is what I want to know.

In my living room, I have a vcr and a directv box, attached to my Sony Trinitron which has (on the front of the tv), three outputs. Red, White, Yellow.

Now they describe this little dvd player as something that you can bring in your car. How on earth can people use this in their cars without a tv?

I have no idea.

I just want to know if I get this thing, that I connect it to the front of my tv set, and go to input and find the correct channel or wavelength, or whatever and I can view a dvd?

Am I correct?

thanks much

Sorry to sound so dumb but the only experience I have with anything dvd is my little portable dvd player.

So if I can get this, I'll be able to view my Avatar as well as any other dvd I can get. I've seen other dvd players (which resemble VCR's but this is top loading and small. This does the same thing, right?

I just want to be sure I can connect this. I can assume that the connectors come with this thing, right?

thanks much

I've been splitting & stacking firewood all day so I'm too tired to read it all.
