Dear Bizi,
70 bulbs! That's a big job. :) The flowers will be beautiful in the spring. The great thing about gardening is that you don't have to be perfect . . . and the soil always gives you another chance to do it again if you want. M. |
Wow great going, Bizi! :)
You're in for a very pretty spring! http://www.landscaping-solutions.com...tch%20iris.jpg iris are my favorite flowers. the above is a "dutch iris" we have some planted in the courtyard. i'm guessing a double dutch has an extra layer of petals? i couldn't find any pix for it. ~ waves ~ |
It sounds like a wonderful and productive day for you, Bizi!
I bet your yard will be gorgeous in the spring! |
It is odd here, I have paper whites that come up every year usually in dec or january...I wonder when these bulbs will bloom...and I wonder if any of them will last more than just once?...

Wow what beautiful color and sight for a drab NE with all the leaves that held color now on the forest floor.
I had a warm day just over a week ago, my Rhodidendrum (sp) bloomed and one beautiful red rose. It was a bleek day and seeing that rose was so uplifting. Thanks for sharing Bizi and all the hard work will be rewarded. With the temps near freezing and wind all weekend, not much yard work was done. So many things to pack away for the winter and snow. We did start winterizing the cars today, snow tires, changing and filling fluids. One car needs an aliegnment done ASAP. THe other needs a transmission part. The oldest one, needs TLC. I did not take down the halloween lights, I left up the orange pumpkins and unplugged the ghost. Tough week, I need vitamins, had sleep, too many dreams though. But I really loved seeing the pictures and thinking that it is not lifeless everywhere. |

Many spring flowering bulbs require a period of cold after blooming and fading of the foliage:
