Lumbar Spine MRI

Please help - what does this mean???
-Desiccation of L4-L5 and L5-S1, no osseous findings
-L4-L5 impression on thecal sac by broad based central and left paracentric disk protusion, thecal sac is normal in caliber, L5 roots unremarkable, no suspicious facet or foraminal findings.
-L5-S1 there is a large downward extending left paracentral disc extrusion that has mass effect on the thecal sac and more so on the merging S1 nerve root that is posteriorly displaced. Mild facet anthropathy and combined left foraminal narrowing
-T2 intense right renal lesion that is incompletely studied, but likely a cyst
-intermediate intensity right hepatic lobe lesion possibility of hemangioma

(A protrusion - but no real problem showing from it)

The bolded stuff is the more important from what I can tell. But I'm not an expert by any means.

Impression on the thecal sac means it is indenting the sac that surrounds the nerve roots and may be causing symptoms of low back pain or perhaps leg symptoms (pain, numbness, tingling, weakness). If you have bowel or bladder issues the "central" part of the description would be of elevated importance. The L5-S1 is the most significant finding and would be suspicious for left-sided leg symptoms. Arthropathy suggests mild enlargement of the facet joints (decreasing available space for the nerve roots). The kidney and liver findings are likely benign but still discuss with your doc and see if further investigation like US, labs, etc., should be done. Treatment-wise, it means you are probably headed for an epidural assuming all conservative measures have failed...
