Hi KennyJack...
Welcome to the forums. First off, methadone would not be my first choice of painkiller. In fact, it would probably be my last. Some people seem to like it, but it caused me more problems than solutions.
When I went off Neurontin I did it cold-turkey, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend that for anyone else. Especially if you have a history of seizures. I didn't suffer any withdrawal symptoms that were too terrible to bear. A bit of diahhrea, some shakiness, and difficulty sleeping and eating were the worst, but they didn't last too long. Pardon my saying so, but it sounds to me that you need to be able to talk to people who understand as much as anything. It must have been quite hard to be brought up under those circumstances. I had a tough Dad, too. I'm really glad that you found us here, and hope you hang around. There are a lot of very nice and very smart people here. Feel perfectly free to jump into any thread that interests you. What you posted here came through just fine. I wish you good luck, Kenny. And look forward to seeing you around. Idealist |

I stopped taking Neurontin with no side effects...that was my experience and yours could be totally different. Have you asked your doc what he/she thinks about you not taking it?

Hello Kennyjack,
Welcome to the forum.:grouphug: Your doing O.K. communicating:) I have a lot of experience with neurontin. Don't stop neurontin suddenly, you could get very sick even have a seziure. Tapering off is fine. How fast depends on how much you were taking. But just take it easy! Take care:) |
