If sciatic nerve pain, would a chiropractor or some sort of bodywork or therapy possibly help?
I know some love them and some hate them..but if they can be of help...

Possibly can help with treatments for muscle pain/spasms if they are a part of the cause.

Have you had Xray or MRI recently - to be sure lumbar spine or other bony structures aren't a reason for this new increased pain?

the pain from sciatic nerve -has messed me up - terribly...

Hi Lou..I dont know if Medicare/Medicaid regulations are different from state to state, but here in R.I. my Medicare covers Chiropractic, and I pay a co-pay of $7.03

As far as the clonazepam, I dont know how many mgs you are on, but you cant just stop taking it, you have to taper off..Dont know if the Dr told you that..Detox from any drug in the Benzo family, is dangerous, and can be fatal

Why she told you to get off the clonazepam is questionable, but I am not a Dr, so who am I to say?..But I do know about the danger of abruptly stopping Benzos cold turkey

Hope you feel better soon

Hope this suggestion does not seem trivial, bearing in mind your problems but with regard to the sciatica, if it is worse at night have you tried putting a thick pillow or cushion between your legs when you are on your side. It alligns the spine in some way. It worked for me although the irritation of the nerve took a weeek of two or three to die away completely. I have suggested it to two other people and they both found it helpful - one was on another PD forum who hadn't slept for weeks - as I hadn't until I remembered seeing this idea somewhere

dear steven and paddy...

Thank you both so much -
I have been an artist most of my life but now I must seek out another creative talent though it feels so futile to be in pain most of the time
love -
peace to your hearts -

Dear lou_lou

I am sorry to know you are in pain. You have been an inspiration to forum members for many years.
My wife suffers from complicated back disk problems .. had two surgeries ..had horrible nerves pains.
Invariably, the first line of treatment has been pain medication and drugs for nerves inflammation.
I am surprised that the Doctor did not prescribe pain medication to start with.
Love and regards
Imad
