Savella
 

My pain specialist would like me to try Savella. Anyone on this or heard of this drug? He wasnt sure my insurance would cover it since it has just recently been approved for Fibromyalgia only. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi, I just joined NeuroTalk tonight to find out about the new drugs I've been given. The pain management NP put me on Savella about a month ago. My insurance will not cover it and it is horribly expensive, so they've been conjuring up free samples for me. It was starting to work well and the nausea and a feeling I'd gone around the bend have almost left. Because of the cost, my primary dr.wanted to give me Cymbalta instead because she has lots of free samples, so I have been taking that at 30mg, soon to be 60mg. but after reading how terrible it is to come off Cymbalta, I'm going to go back to Savella. Trouble is, I can't find any reviews about coming off Savella because it's too new, I guess. I was given it for fibromyalgia so I could maybe get off some of the opiates I take. My eye dr. won't do cataract surgery till I"get off some of your Lorcet and Kadian". The nurse pract. doesn't understand why he wants me to cut down.
