haematoma
hi all I read that a subdural haematoma is not easily imaged on a ct of the brain especially!!!! if it is not fresh my first ct of my brain was not done for a week after my injury
no mri think my brain swelled after initial injury and csf leak from nose relived icp a bit so any info as to times after a bleed and it showing up on ct would be helpful 3 years on we are still battling the system , and my friends it sucks hope we all have the best new year we can |
From my reading and research, small bleeding in the brain is best imaged at about 3 days post injury. Earlier and the area might be still too small or have live blood. Later and it will have started to be absorbed by the body. They want to see it as the blood has begun to deteriorate and shows up differently.
The CT with contrast is a good imaging system other than an MRI/MRA. Hope this helps. My best to you. |
