new to forum with diabeties and neuropathy

hello. im new to this forum stuff but i am at my end of rope trying to find something to help. i was told 2 months ago i have neuropathy and it has gone from legs hurting to terrible pain in legs and feet. my feet feel like they swell and are hot and hurt terrible. i took neurotin and just switched to lyrica a week ago. i take 6 lyrica a day and a percoset every 4 hours. is there anything out there that helps. my worse thing is i was working 2 jobs and now have gone to working just one job but i cant stand the feel of socks and shoes on. i hate even the blanket touching my legs and feet. i have tried different shoes, socks and even several insoles in my shoes. nothing helps them at all. my husband rubs lotion on them and that helps for like 30 minutes. my feet feel great but it just doesnt last. thanks for any help.

Welcome to NeuroTalk.

You might find some more answers at our Peripheral Neuropathy forum:

If you like topical things, the best IMO is Biofreeze gel.
This is available now online at several places...including Amazon.
Some Drugstores carry it now, and it has another name with the same formula called Perform gel.

It is very good for burning pain, and other types of pain too. I discovered it at physical therapy, and I use it on my feet when they act up. For me the relief lasts all night. It is really really good.
