4 yrs of mysterious Joint Pain. What is it?

Hi, I have seen a dozen Dr's. but still no diagnosis.

It started four years ago when I was only 18 years old. The pain has persisted 24/7 it's always there. Some periods of time (a month or a few months) are worse than others.

If i've been sitting in class for an hour and then stand up all of my bones "CRACK"- it sounds like an old person trying to get up- friends all notice it.

The joints are tight/stiff/sore as if I had been beaten up in an intense sport the day before.

Stretching, Cardio, and hot tub provide temporary relief.

I spend 1-3 hours stretching/yoga every day when I get home because my body hurts so much.

Neck, shoulders, upper back, fingers and toes hurt the most.

Anyone heard of similar symptoms?

Hi CaraSurf88,

First, let me say that it could be a lot of things; I can only relate my personal experiences.

Have they x-rayed you for arthritis? Any blood work?

If you haven't yet, try googling cracking joints and (pun intended) bone up.

It started for me during college too. I'd concentrate on something so hard (working/concentrating/studying) - especially during creative efforts - that I'd subconsciously tense up, not notice, and then... WHAM! It's just the way I am.

I've just had to learn to remember to constantly relax, stay loose, move around, etc.
