Some Advise!
Hi,
I'm from the UK. I was wondering if it's ok to take B Complex vitamins with Omeprazole and Domperidone? If so, Shall i take them with my medication? or sometime after? I was also told to take the Vitamins with or after food! I suffer with To much acid in the stomach, (so the docs says) I had a scope but all normal. I also suffer with Depression, Stress, And Anxiety, hence why i thought i would try B complex! I started taking 1X 1000 mg a day of codliver oil, that has Omega 3. What type of B complex would you recomend out of these Jarrow Formulas, B-Right Super Stress B-Complex w/Vitamin C Thanks for your help  |
I think you can take them with the meds.
Many people over the years here have posted about the Jarrow B-right, and liked it. |

Do you mean you think i can take them along side the meds at the sametime? Or do you mean You think i take take them whiles im on that medication? Should i be taking a vit C also ? Thanks alot :) |
The omeprazole does not work in the stomach directly.
It passes thru the stomach (it has enteric coating to protect the drug) into the intestines where it is absorbed there and moves thru the bloodstream to the cells in the stomach to reduce acid flow (inhibit the pumps that make the acid). We don't have dromperidone in US. I am not finding it in our drug checkers here. I don't think it would be a problem, but ask your chemist anyway. Take the B's in the morning, as that is when most people find they work the best. You can take C... an Ester form is easier on the stomach if acid is your problem. It is called Ester C. |

So It's ok to take The B's in the morning at the sametime as my meds?. Or little after with food? I have to take my Omeprazole first thing in the morning before food, and another 1 at night. What mg Ester C shall i take.. i dont have any orange juice at all. Thanks very much for your help :) |
500mg a day of Ester C should be enough.
The B's go down better with food, as some people get heart burn from them. (but not everyone). You can take the Ester C with food too. Anytime in the early day is fine for both of these. If you take them at night you may wake up having to go the the bathroom to urinate...water soluble vitamins come out thru the urine. Also the B's are energizing for some people, so early in the day is best. Taking Vitamins at night may contribute to reflux also. |

So it should make a difference taking the vits with the meds in the morning. would you say that's all i need, B complex, codliver oil, and Vit C. Or is it really worth talking a Multivit ? Thanks alot.. |
Taking a multi is up to you. If you don't eat veggies, I'd take one.
Depending on your age, you may need some minerals too... and the senior vitamins have those. Avoid mixtures with iron. (unless your doctor says to take iron). Choose a men's formula, as iron is often not in them. To help choose good foods and see what vitamins and minerals you are really eating this site is very good: www.nutritiondata.com I'd just take the Bs and C after breakfast. |
