POST-postpartum relapse stats?
If someone had no flares or only minor flares (sensory symptoms only), and has their first or first significant flare post-partum, is there ANY data about how likely it is they would continue to have major flares vs. not have flares or have only minor ones?
I am currently on tysabri, which I started 5 or 6 months into my post-partum flare, which was my 3rd but the first to be so severe (pain, weakness, tremors, swallowing issues, etc) and now with perhaps permanent peripheral neuropathy- and I am eager to learn of any formal or anecdotal data about my potential risk for future relapse and/or progression. "In general, pregnancy does not appear to affect the long-term clinical course of MS".
http://www.nationalmssociety.org/liv...ncy/index.aspx I have had 2 children and did not have a relapse during pregnancy or post-partum. Hopefully the above link will help answer some of your questions. |
