New Doctor

At Curious' recommendation, I tried a new doctor after crappy treatment by my doctor (leaving me in an exam room and the office going to lunch...sheesh). Well, I love this doc. He is fantastic. I waited FIVE minutes to see him. He spent a lot of time with me. Didn't make me feel horrible for being overweight, but told me that I need to lose, that's it. Seriously I almost cried with happiness at not being humiliated. He is very personable, thorough and honestly seemed to be a caring man. When I told him of my Neurontin/Bronchitis connection, he was quite interested and said he would investigate further. He was just great. He gave me a prescription for something to supplement the Metformin.

Damn I'm just happy. It was great and I hope it continues to be this good. I will see him again in three weeks.

Thanks for asking and for the PM's regarding this. You guys rock!

Hulie,

I am so very happy for you. That is great! You deserve first class care and respect.

I am trying a different path. Two weeks ago primary care doc told me RSD was all in my head and maybe I should just enjoy life. Well then I saw RSD spcialist and he said nope its RSd and fire that guy. So I am.

On Thursday I will try a concierge doc. I will pay him a yearly fee but then he is mine. 24/7. I get his cell phone and appts anytime I want. I will get proper time and attention and I am sure it will be worth the $$. I am tired of the primary care way of life. Wish me luck.

P.S. Ain't that monkey great!

Hi Julie, I'm new, and want to share my happiness in your new Dr. I've been thru a few, misdiagnosed-missed window of time for blocks. But now, have a gem I see once a month-he manages my meds and we talk. You mentioned having bronchitis with neurotin. I take 3200 mg of neurotin and also have bronchitis also had pleurisy. Is there a connection? Please let me know when you have a littlle time. I have full body RSD-10 years following breast and under arm lymph biopsy. It started with frozen shoulder then traveled to the other shoulder, then traveled to left hand. Hand frozen limited motion of fingers. kinda like a claw. then to right hand, and now both feet, neck etc.
Hope today is a better one. loretta I live in Scottsdale. My husband and I have one married daughter. I'm 59.

There is a connection with Neurontin and lung problems. If you do a search of those two terms, you find lots of lawyers wanting your business. That is how I found out about it. I stopped taking it immediately and haven't had bronchitis or pneumonia since. I was taking 5400mg of Neurontin at one time. The bronchitis would hit me three or four times a year with pneumonia once or twice a year.

I would ask your doc about weaning you off Neurontin. Can I add that my best friend also had never had lung problems until she took Neurontin too. Both of us ended up having to use inhalers. Neither of us have problems now.

Hugs and welcome to the forum!
