Hi again
I know that there is a pepper cream that helps you can get at local drug store. ask for capsaicin cream and try it it just may help easy the burn feeling. how long have you had this burning feeling? do you have any other symptoms or have you noticed anything that Triggers it such as air moving over lip or cold and hot temp from drink or food? is it all the time constant? have you seen a doc about it yet? guess you can tell by my screen name I know the feeling my lower lip and inside mouth and gum . I hope others post so you have some feed back and can start to figure out what is going on. I have never been on the med you mentioned but I know others here are on it and I hope they reply. it can get kinda slow so give it a few days kk. let us know if the cream helps you I really hope it does as I know it has and does help plenty of others. Sending low pain wishes and Peace.:hug: BMW |
Pain messages are passed along nerves by a neurotransmitter called "substance P." Capsaicin, the component of chili peppers that makes them hot, blocks substance P and the resultant pain. A cream containing .025 percent capsaicin has been shown to block pain in joints, nerves and skin. It can be used to relieve the pain from a variety of causes: arthritis, surgery, various injuries, tumors, nerve damage from diabetes and so forth. Reports suggest that capsaicin cream also can control the discomfort of cluster headaches, psoriasis or itching from any cause.
Pepper creams are available over-the-counter in most drug stores. When you use pepper cream, you need to know that capsaicin is a very stable alkaloid that does not wash off your skin, even with soap. If you apply it with your fingertips and later touch your eyes, or any mucous membrane or open cuts, you can get a nasty burning sensation that will last about twenty minutes. You can avoid this problem by wearing rubber gloves to apply it, or buy the pepper cream in a special roll-on applicator bottle so you don’t get it on your hands. |
I know it sound odd using something that causes the sensation you are having but allot of times it blocks the feeling. I hope it helps I would be careful not to get in mouth. lips are a tricky thing so be extra careful and Most defiantly PLEASE call doctor so you can find out the cause
