RSD causing breathing issues?????

I have beeb having alot of shortness of breath. Pulmonologist did several tests & ruled out ashtma. She thinks it is RSD related, but we need more specific info. I know I have come across several articles on this & cant seem to find any. Any info would be appreciated...thanks!!

Check the side effects of your drugs, especially some of the rarer ones. Elavil caused me all kinds of problems. Also, be aware of your heart rate, the two can be related

Too much lidoderm will make your heart race which could make you feel out of breath with the slightest exertion. She's right check your meds. Spoken from experience. It is possible to use too much lidoderm.

I would say 6 months after dx with this I went through a period of 6 months where I would be gasping for air and it was make me feel dizzy. I had chest pressure too. I was tested like you said for asthma, allergies, etc nothing was found of why. As the 6 months went on it went from being several days a week to less time and now rarely happens. Nothing changed in terms of meds. Actually I am on more now. Of course it is important to rule out everything. I saw your post on ivig. I have a friend who has PN who does this weekly. They felt some of her problems may have been from auto immune. I think she finds it beneficial cause she has been doing it for so long. I could be wrong though. I know it is not the same as rsd but I wonder if it would help settle the inflammation that I know it causes

Hi Firegirl, I'm sorry you have these symptoms. I've had RSD 15 plus years and about a year ago maybe 2 years, I started gasping for air. It startled me at first. I believe the shortness of breath is a result of RSD, although haven't seen a specialist. It happens nearly every day and during the night while sleeping. Sorry can't share any more information. Your friend, loretta

acid reflux

often in the middle of the night for no reason i will get acid reflux...it aspirtaes in my lungs and i cant breathe. its terrifying. i also have asthma so idrink pepto bismal for the burning and then use my inhaler and sit up for an hour until it passes

even when i take the medicine to prevent the attacks and i dont eat after 6pm sometimes it still happens. the RSD is definitely causing my acid reflux problems.
could this be happening to you in small amounts that it aspirates in your lungs but not enough that you feel the burning...more like a burp but then it aspirates in your lungs.

Just a thought! SO sorry this is happening to you. could his be your problem too Loretta?
Hugs
Lori

Kathy

a sharp pain in your back is a sign of gallbladder problems...i also had nausea and reflux back then but didnt know what it was either...

http://www.gallbladderattack.com/ i had that symptom in 2005 and then i had gallbladder surgery which i now know started my RSD...but i was just diagnosed 9 months ago. SO if you are having gallbladder problems which you can find out with an ultrasound, look up al other options to get relief besides surgery. if i would have known then, what i know now...i would have tried all the homeopathic options first. let me know what you think
hugs
Lori

My dad has Barrett's esophagus from long time GERD.
He also had to try different acid reflux meds to find the one that worked best for him , to control the acid problems.

[Barrett's esophagus is a disorder in which the lining of the esophagus (the tube that carries food from the throat to the stomach) is damaged by stomach acid. ]

I've had RSD for 4 years and I have only recently discovered that my breathing rate is almost double what it should be
Apparently when I am asleep it goes back into an almost normal rhythm
It has been put down the the RSD causing problems in the autonomic nervous system which governs things like breathing and heart rate (I also have syncope)
Hope this helps
