Happy Valentines Day **Start SCS Trial today

Hello Everyone, just catching up on all the threads and seeing how everyone is doing. I hae been AWOL for a while without consistant internet access and winter, etc. Today is Valentines day and I am off to start my SCS trial today @ 2:00pm. I am excited and nervouse and have been up all night letting my brain chatter me crazy. My biggest fear is that it wont work and that I will be left with no options. I will let everyone know how it goes and am trying my hardest to stay positive.

And everything goes Pear shaped........splat! I have geared myself up to have this done today and have been anxious and on edge for the entire weekend and splat! Through a whirlpool of confusion they had the rep scheduled to be there at 9am and me scheduled to be there at 2pm so all the anxiety was for nothing. I am rescheduled for 2/23 @ 8:15am. I may do trial w/more than one brand unit as if we proceed with permanent placement I will require paddle leads & neurosurgeon due to all the hardware in & around my spinal column> This trial is Med tronic, also looking at St.Jude......

I'm sooooo sorry for the confusion. I went today to start my trial. The appointment was made 2-10 for today 2-14 the stress and worry almost drove me crazy. My doc chose Boston Scientific and so far I couldn't be happier...okay I could do without the pain from the procedure but the relief so far is beyond amazing.
GOOD LUCK!

Hi Twinmom

Praying that all will go well and be well when you get there the next time. I know personally how frustrating it can be to get all worked up to a surgery, arrive, and then be sent home. It stinks. Big time.:Bang-Head:

I know from personal experience that this system works in the proper situation. May your trial be the BEST ever.

MK Hi

Hoping the best for you on your Boston Sci try. I have it, love it, would kill to keep it [does that give you a good idea how I like it?].

If you have Boston Sci questions, my thread on it is in here somewhere.....
maybe in Rae's left pocket [inside joke on this thread]. Here is the link:

Warning, it is a bit long...
Be good to yourself during your trial,
I'll bet you are gonna love it,

Hey Twinmom!

It's great to hear from you again!
Geeeeeeze I'm sorry tho about the re-schedule!
If there's a way I could help make you feel less anxious about it, I would love to!......but it's pretty much natural for us to be a bit scared of the 'unknown'....
At least it's good to be reading all these trials that have been shared lately....SO MANY outstanding and exciting testimonies of how folks just can't believe what the SCS is capable of doing!

I'm excited for you. Just try to relax in to it and make it a reality in your mind that this CAN work!

Case-in-Point: MKHolman joins your thread to share a very exciting experience!

We're here for you!
Rae

Like Mark56 says, we have SO MUCH to share here!.......

THIS GUY!! --->> http://dl9.glitter-graphics.net/pub/...nemhp4tc96.gif

My PSYCHO- Delic LINT ! :p alas, but Mark DID post the link to his wonderful thread. I highly recommend reading thru it.....

It's good to have you here and we hope you stick around to let us know how the rest of your trial goes.
YES, indeed the first day of the trial is a bit painful and it's best to just lay around and pamper yourself from the procedure........Ice was my best friend where they inserted the trial leads.....
But then the next few days you'll feel much more up to doing things around your house and mess with the settings and 'bond' with it :)

Wishing you the best!

Oh no!

Twinmon Im sorry to hear you had to reschedule....but at least you have a date which is good....

When I was going for my trial, I was told to be in for 8am....so we went to the hospital with lots of time to spare and were just pulling into the carpark at 7.50am....when my phone rang and it was my CONSULTANT:eek:

He said....oh arent you supposed to be here to have your trial done today,................. I said emmmm yes Im just outside, Im not late though I was told to be here for 8am.. is there a problem!?????!......he said, well you should have been here for 7AM!!!!:eek:

Obviously I was told the wrong time, but luckily he waited for me. He thought he might lose his theatre slot, but thanfully not.....

So these things do happen unfortunately...but chin up and it wont be long til 23rd!!

Hi MK

Nice to meet you, so glad you found this wonderful site.

Great to hear that your trial is going so well..fantastic news. The uncomfortable feeling and tenderness of the trial will pass but at least you are getting some good results.....well done! :)

MKHolman 02-18-2011 01:43 AM

Thank you all for the welcome. I'm not real sure how this works but I do know you all have answered most of the questions I had. I am VERY sorry you've all had to deal with this and I'm very thankful that you are willing to share your experiences.
You were right about the procedure pain going away and me bonding with the zapper. We have become the best of friends. The downside is that I'm gonna lose it in about nine hours. Then it's back to the waiting game to see if the insurance will let me have it permanently. I am NOT looking forward to being without it. And I hope it doesn't hurt when they remove the trial zapper. Being without it will be pain enough.

Again...thank you.
