Cape Town South Africa

I am heading to Cape Town South Africa for Vacation in March. Has anyone been there and if so, do you have recommendations on things to see? Have done a lot of internet research and have a list of things to see (tentative).:winky:

I have not personally been to South Africa, however my cousin went there with DH and toured the wine country and had a lovely time. (BTW...she won trip from a local radio station! Lucky girl!)

Yes, we lived in SA for several years. It's a really pretty city and great to just wander around in. How long will you be there, will you have time for some day trips outside of Cape Town?

I am sooooo jealous!!! Take lots of pictures of your surroundings...not just wild animals. I wish to go with you, vicariously.:D

Have a wonderful wonderful time.:)

You need to go to Cape Point and Ocean Split. You can have the Indian Ocean on your left and the Atlantic on your right.

We will be there for two weeks and will be able to make some day trips. I am excited however it may still be hot there. I am in Houston and it is really hot here, so I doubt that I will have trouble with temps in the 80's.

Thank you so much! My daughter has lived there for a year and has not been to Cape Point so we will definately go.

What he said, also Haut Bay, Stellenbasch, and a drive on the Garden Route (best if you can overnight somewhere). If you can handle Houston heat CT should be no problem, but the sun is very intense year round. Lots of people get sunstroke, so take a hat and use strong sunscreen.

Cool! Hope you have a great trip!

The weather is cooling off there, heading to winter. The Ocean is mid 60's now so the coastal areas should be fairly cool.
