Hi Steven and Welcome to NeuroTalk. Here is the link to our SCS form
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum118.html You'll find a lot of good information there and great support. I'm glad you've joined us. :) |
Hi Steven ~ The whole SCS doesn't need replacing -- only the battery -- and it's a very SIMPLE procedure. It's not really a 'surgery' cause the SCS is very close to the surface of the skin. They just have to make a small incision to replace the battery and that's it. They replace it usually every 5 years, but alot depends on how much you use your unit. If you have it on 24/7, then the battery will need replacing sooner.
You might really get a lot of relief if you have neuropathy in the legs/feet. It really doesn't help much with mechanical pain. But if you have burning/stinging in the legs & feet, you could very easily get alot of relief. You might want to have the trial for it and see how it works for you. Best of luck Steven and God bless.
