IVIG side effects

Hello again, everyone. Can people share their experiences with IVIG? I'd like to get some first-hand accounts to run by my fiancee so she might consider having it. Are there any side effects? How do you generally feel after a session? How is your overall muscle weakness after having it done for however many sessions it generally takes to start working.

Thank you!

Hi
I just finished 5 treatments spread out over 3 weeks. They spread mine out because of my age (70). My treatments took about 3 hours each. They started me out with a slow rate and increased it about every 20 minutes to reach the max of 225. I was gived the unmedicated version and had no reactions. The nurses always warned of headaches and flu like symptoms but never had those. All that said I have not seen any improvement however each person reacts differently. One fellow told me after his 5 treatments he went into remission. I was nervous when I went for my first one but have since discovered it was really a piece of cake. I went to an infusion center and they had a snack room, provided lunch and each cube had a TV. I would give it a shot and I wish her the best.

Hi, I just finished five treatments, five days in a row, as an inpatient at the hospital. I think the reason I was an inpatient was that I was admitted through the ER. I tolerated the infusions very well. They infused me slowly, starting at about 40 and moving up to 75. I didn't notice any side effects. I did get headaches, but I think they were from hospital sleep-deprival, and I took ibuprofen for them, which worked. There wasn't any pain, except for having the IVs put in.

I didn't have any dramatic improvement, but I'm still hoping they'll help.

I had four days of IVIG beginning on February 15 (300 grams over four days). This is the second time I have had IVIG. A bad headache is my main side effect, usually lasting a couple of weeks.
