TOS and carpal tunnel release surgery

Hi,
I have TOS plus have the tennis elbow, and severe carpal tunnel, due to median nerve damage. How successful is this carpal tunnel release surgery, if someone also has a TOS condition? I am in alot of pain in my hands. thank u

Martina

If the EMG/NCV testing shows positive for carpal tunnel then most likely you do have it. called Double crush and /or triple crush.

Have you had therapy for the CT already and no improvement at all?

It is so hard to say for certain if a CT release will resolve the hand pain or if it is partially due to the TOS also, it's such a fuzzy line...

I used to have sharp stabbing, cramping pains in the backs of my hands- they also never fell asleep like CT usually does.

If you can tell about the pain in your hands maybe we can help

I had three carpal tunnel surgeris that did nthing for mine. In fact it is worse now then ever and other nerve injuries became worse too after bieng undiagnosed before the surgeries.

That is why i have put this off for almost a year now. I am afraid that it wont help and that it will do more harm than good. However the hand and arm pain is becoming so bad, i am becoming desperate. I know i will still have pain that radiates to my piny and ring finger cause, i have some type of ulnar nerve involvement with the tennis elbow diagnosis. The EMG show severe median nerve damage most cosistent with carpal tunnel,,,and that all it showed, even though my entire arm was done, and the tennis elbow did not even show on EMG. I have the frozen shoulders syndrome as well. That was one of my first symptoms. I had it for a year and a half now. Recent MRI of the shoulders shows bursitis, as that is what showed in an x ray a year and a half ago. So this bursitis is not going away. I took dexamethasone for it in the past with no relief. I
was told to do a hand crawl up the wall with my hand, for the frozen shoulder/ bursitis , it didnt work. My shoulders hurt so bad i cry every day. The shoulders make knocking noise and crepitus, like a bone against bone noise. I take percocet, tizanadine, ibuprofen, naproxen, i was just changed from neurotin to lyrica, but i think i like the neurotin better, tramadol. Topically i have tried icey hot, flexall, blue emu, aspercreme, biofreeze, and therma patches. thanks for ur input on the carpal tunnel. Martina

Yes my EMG/NCV test is positive for severe median nerve damage, most consistent with carpal tunnel. I have the positive electircal shock sensations when you tap on my inner wrist, shocks go to thumb, ring, and middle finger. It goes numb, especially at night,, and there is pain. The palm gets like a mottled look to it. Yes i have been diagnosed with the double/ or triple crush in both arms. My left is worse than my right though. It is so painful i just want to cut off my left arm most days. The hands get cold too, almost all the time,, they are cold. I dont know if the carpal tunnel release will give me any pain relief but i am getting desperate. :( Martina

My doctor at the time didn't do full EMG's and missed other nerve injuries. I also returned to same job and it came back every time. It has worked for other people.
