Vicodin for depression & Pain
I am ready to try either Cymbalta, or abilifi for the energy taken from me by my seizure medication Klonopin & Depression. The Vicodin has helped me for 5 years for a life in bed isolating from the world. I would love to be on something that helps me with these problems without taking an Opiate. I hope this website gives me some information, & I'm sure I can help others.

Welcome Stuarm2!
It's so good to have you!
You've found a wonderful place that has so many forums full of good information. I visit several of them, as I have several different issues. It's so nice to be able to belong to ONE place that can cover all the 'bases' :) rather than having to belong to several different on-line forums. NT has it all, in my opinion! Holler if you need help in finding your way around It'll be great getting to know you! Truly Caring Rae  |
Hi ~ My doc put me on Cymbalta AND Abilify at the same time ~ and it worked WONDERS!!! With just the Cymbalta, I was still depressed -- but when he added the Abilify, it took my depression away!! Perhaps your doc will do that too. I hope so.
If you have been on Vicodin for 5 years, you NEED to have a liver panel done. The "tylenol" in Vicodin can be damaging to your liver. Ask your doctor to run the liver panel test to be sure your liver is functioning like it should be. Also, you would be better off by going to long-acting opiates rather than staying on Vicodin. Many of these drugs are not harmful to major organs -- ask your doctor about them. Many of then are not filtered by the liver and many are not as damaging to the kidneys. Talk it over with your doc or else call your pharmacist and ask HIM which ones would be best for you. But definitely DON'T stay on Vicodin any longer. That was intended for SHORT TERM USE!!! Best of luck and God bless. Hugs, Lee |
i tried cymbata and had bad side effects with sleep, appetite and mood swings. had to stop after just 3 days
