Need Dental Insurance!?!?

I am no longer covered since I had to retire and my husband's changed. So I am in need of insurance....cause I have some teeth that are really needing attention.

Does anyone have suggestions of a good insurance? I just have NO IDEA where to even start!

Thanks!

gosh, i wish i did.
i'm on medicare and got my insurance thru aarp. but that might be an option anyway. you just need to be over 50.

i had to pay an entire yr and only then became eligible for coverage.

you might try to find a DDS (maybe your old DDS or your husband's) that will work with you on an installment plan.

That's my first thought, AARP and second to that would be Blue Cross Blue Shield.

My most logical suggestion would be to call a local dentist and ask the Office/Practice Manager what companies she may know of and would recommend in your situation.

Sorry, I wish I had better information for you. Luckily, I'm still covered under my wife's company insurance.

Speaking of that did you "mean" your husband company/job has changed, or you have changed husbands? I'm just a tad confused on that point.

I have Medicare/Medicaid and had fairly good dental coverage in WA state, but when I moved to OR I lost dental coverage and signed up for the AARP Medicare Complete Choice PPO with Dental. The dental is an add-on, and I pay a premium of $19/month for it.

There is a $100 annual deductible, and there is a limit of $1,000 a year but it's better than nothing.

Thank you all for your help...I really appreciate it. I can't write much now, not feeling well, but am going to give each of your suggestions a lot of thought when I can think better.

Craig, my husband had to retire on disability also and so I am still covered for medical but not dental. (My wording on that was confusing...lol)

I REALLY DO appreciate your responses!

I hope you're feeling better soon and I'm happy to know you didn't change husbands. <BG> :)

Keep us informed and we will try and find a good solution for you one way or the other. You can't be the first person to be in this type of situation.
