URGENT: Possible Aneurysm (thoughts / suggestions)
I really need to get some feedback here regarding pains I am having, I urge anyone who is able to pass this information to a person with knowledge as a doctor etc please do so.
For the last seven months, I have been having a horrific time with constant (dizziness / tingling in my hands & feet / horrific head pains / pressure in the head and slight confusion & memory loss). Now the last two / three weeks I have been having a horrible sharp and pressure Luke pain in one particular spot on the top of my head. I felt the area and noticed a rather large dent in my skull in the exact spot the pain comes from. I decided to massage the area and suddenly my entire body was shocked with an awesome amount of pain from the area I made my way to the er hospital and was rushed to be seen. All the basic check ups such as bp / heart rate and basic neurological tests were done. The er doctor was not satisfied and had a ct scan done on my Brian. All results were good Now a few days later the pain still is there and wont go away. My right eye has sharp feelings in it and is slightly droopy. My pupil on my right eye also at times expands more then my left What the heck can this be. I have had the following tests done in the last 7 months EKG Cat scan of brain and neck Basic blood work Cat scan of brain with dye contrast pumped in after regular ct scan MRI of brain and neck and neurologists check up Cat scan of brain Intense blood work and metal testing Continues check ups with my family doctor ENT specialist check up Neurologist visit and check up I keep thinking I have a brain aneurysm in the spot that is dented and hurts. And at times feel as if there is no point even caring about life I am unable to even walk proper any more (due to dizziness) when the specific pain (sharp pain) comes it comes out of the blue, example I can be sitting down enjoying tv and "bang" it comes. Once it hits I become disoriented and very scared. I cannot even go to the grocery store without thinking about my sickness so I try to stay away from as many public areas as possible. -30 Year Old Male -Healthy (in shape) -Recent blood work came out good, only area of concern was hemoglobin -reading of 170 g/l (sorry this is the Canadian unit of measure) -all imaging tests came back positive (neurologist found slight extra bone growth in neck but did not raise concern) -Neurologist believes it is due to vascular migraine but is unaware of my dent and specific pain in head now last MRI of neck and brain was done 2 months 12 days ago last CT scan (no dye) was done 16 days ago Last CT / CT WITH CONTRAST of brain done 4 months 11 days ago I beg you to help me as this has literally turned me into a very active / strong and happy husband to literally a sad and depressed person Thank You |

Any thoughts Do you think with all the scans I have ruled out an avm or aneurysm Thank you Quote:

I am not a doctor but I believe that an aneurysm or AVM would have been picked up in one of those scans.
Self diagnosis is a dangerous thing.. I would I go back to the neurologist and ask him to look into the vascular migraine. |
Hi there
I am sorry that you are having such a scary time right now. None of us on here are doctors, we can only speak about personal experiences we have had with aneurysms. I had one diagnosed and then clipped several years ago. I can understand your fear - I was thirteen months knowing I had an aneurysm before my surgery, and the thought that there was a time bomb in my head was terrifying. Having said that, you have done the right thing and had your pain investigated. It is very scary when you are in pain, but please don't panic - ironically, most aneurysms present without pain until they rupture, apart from a few who have experienced sentinel headaches, most of us are blissfully unaware. You have had a number of tests, and to my limited knowledge, they should reveal if there is an aneurysm present. Did you have an MRA as well as an MRI? MRI (magnetic resonance imagery) looks at brain tissue, MRA (magnetic resonance angiography) looks at the blood vessels. Your CAT scan should show them as well. Bottom line is, there are lots of other things that it could be, if your other tests are not conclusive. If you are not happy with your doctor and their findings, then I urge you to get a second opinion. Let us know how you go, this is very scary and sometimes the monster in the room is more scary than the monster you know. Regards Lyn |

This may not be it, but look up Trigeminal neuralgia and also Meniere's disease, these cause similar symptoms, and are 2 of the many differential diagnosis's I was told I had before the Dr's found 5 aneurysms in my brain. I hope you find a reason and "name" for your condition soon, all the best:hug: |
Good luck.
