What to do?

My husband notified my pain management doctor's office on Thursday that I was concerned about he numbness, tingling coldness in my arms and hands and also told him that I was having sensations in my chest still and they seemed to be increasing. He also asked them about the Clonidine pills that I am now on and the way that is lowering my blood pressure to scary levels.

They didn't really respond to him, just told him it was the RSD and to just keep an eye on blood pressure level. The Clonidine was prescribed to help with the pain, as I was already on a blood pressure medicine. They said give it a few days o see if it helps, blah blah blah.

Well, the sensations in my chest are worse yesterday and today. I don't know if going to the Emergency Room would be helpful. I know it's not a "heart attack", but it's painful and scary. My arms are super heavy today and the pain all over is awful today. It might be the weather. I guess I am asking for suggestions - my breathing is fine (hurts when I take deep breaths in and out), no fever, blood pressure is okay. The sensations/zaps and icy/hot feeling in my chest is awful. Could they help or would it be a waste of time and would they want to keep me? I don't want to stay, I don't want to be poked unnecessarily. Should I just go try to nap? I hate weekends...

Patti. I would go and get it checked out. A chest x-ray may show if you have any lung problems developing since you can not take a deep breath. You could have a silent pnemonia, pleurasy(sp) or something like that. At the least you would feel reassured that nothing is wrong in your chest, at best you may get some much needed help. Lisa

Dear Patti

please go to the ER always! drs offices just dont understand how we feel and dont respond quickley enough.

last weekend i was shaking in pain, my bladder wasnt working right and i had some blood in my stool. i had to beg my doctor to put me in the hospital so i could get stable. they did a colonoscopy which i hated the prep for it but it turned out negative thank God. it took 4 days of different meds in the hospital to settle my system.
please go...you cant do this alone!
peace
Lori
