Back to a great neuro!

Well, I finally switched back to my original Neuro, I was just tired of all that was going on with the other.

She is helping back down on some meds that I can't stand the side effects of. Hopefully I will be able to without the pain taking back over.

She is keeping me on the Rebif 22mcg for now, if my blood work is not getting worse. She wants an MRI, so we are working on scheduling one.

She also said that from the sounds of things I am starting to go into SPMS instead of RRMS.

It was so nice to be back to a doctor who doesn't treat me like I'm an absolute moron!

Just had to share, I was excited to have a doctor who listens again!

It's always good to have a doctor who listens.

Why did you leave her in the first place?

I've never met a Neuro who really listens and gives creedence to my questions and concerns. The ones (with 1 exception) I have visited, decide what's wrong with you and treats you accordingly. Shutting out and pooh poohing your concerns as anxiety, stress or just plain old imagined.:mad:

The one exception is/was, my retired female Neuro, who was the partner with my very first Neuro. He DXed me in 1976 and she DXed me again in 1993, after a 17 yr remission.:)

It must be, that women listen and men don't...but we knew that.:D

I would never have left on my own. I have HypoKalemic Periodic Paralysis, so steroids send me into a 16 hour attack of paralysis. She was fine treating my MS, as long as there were no flairs. But because of my HypoKPP along with other issues she had no clue how to deal with a flair.

She thought that by sending me to a teaching hospital with all kinds of specialist in one hospital all my specialist could converse and give me the best care possible. Unfortunately, that definitely was not the case  So I sent her a letter and she took my case back.

She wants me to go for an MRI, so I go for that April 4th and then she wants a follow up appointment.

I'm just so happy to have her back as my doctor, she listens so well! I truly wish every specialist could be this great!
