Battling Combat PTSD and Conversion Disorder
I have been fighting with all kinds of issues for over 6 years now after returning from the Baghdad. Symptoms did not show themselves until about 1 year of being home. I thought nothing of it and continued on through life until it started to effect my work, family/friends and my safety. I have been to so many doctors and have don’t countless tests thinking I had a physical conditions. So now 5 years later doctors are pointing to conversion disorder which was discussed to me today by my VA psych doctor. She mentioned since tests have not produced any results she wanted to head down this road. At this point I am ready for anything new since I feel I have exhausted everything else.
So, I found this site and thought I could find a group who are going through the same traumas of conversion disorder. My symptoms are about 90% of multiple sclerosis but I was tested for that with a lumbar puncture. My worst symptom is this terrible constant pressure behind my eyes, preventing me from rolling them are closing my eye lids hard. So there it is, with this new diagnoses I am up for anything even if it is talking with strangers in a blog (my first online post!) |
