Nightmare with dentures and gums

I had my upper teeth pulled 2 years ago (my first mistake) and got an immediate denture. I was having dry mouth problems from medication and eventually discovered that I just could not stand the suction from conventional dentures. Now I have 4 mini implants with an overdenture which fits great, I can talk and eat anything with them, BUT, my gums are killing me. The dentist cannot see any sore spots, pressure points, or inflammation. He's a great Doc and has worked and worked with me, but has finally said that I might have to consider a fixed hybrid. Thousands of $$$ I don't have! I went off the med that I thought was causing the problem for 30 days and saw no improvement. I'm getting desperate. Does anyone else have problems with their gums hurting for no apparent reason? I really need help, this has taken over my life.

Hi greeneyedgirl,

Did your gums hurt when you wore the original denture? Is this denture made from a different material than that one?

What are you using to clean the denture and are you rinsing your mouth with anything?
