What does a SSDI Continuing review consist?

Hi everyone.

My husband's case is still pending. But I was just curious and I'm sure others are too. But what exactly does a continuing SSDI -Social Security Disabilty review consist of? I have read info on many websites and I have a good idea of what happens. But I would like to hear it from those who have had a review, or many reviews. For example my husband suffers from seizures. So will they just see if he still has seizures? Who makes the decision to allow the patient to continue SSDI benefits or stop them? What are the odds of one losing their benefits?

Thanks to all. I hope everybdy is doing fine. For those down and depresed-Stay Positive and never give up!!!

I would be interested to know as well! I dont know when my CDR is because there is no date on my approval letter. I dont really care when because I am still very disabled. I hope everyone keeps their chin up and stays positive!!

Seizures

I know someone who lost their disability 2 months ago that suffered from seizures. Mainly I believe because he took a part time job for 15-18 hours a week at a library and had no real bad seizures in the past few months. I feel bad for him, he told me they only pay you 2 months after they decide you no longer need disability.

Interesting...not sure

I'm not sure who makes the decision--just that I have been reviewed and continued. No reasons stated. However, I am fully disabled due to Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (on this Group) and have not worked since Dec 2005.

Let us know and good luck,

Teresa Marie

I've often wondered the same thing. I should be up for my first review in 2012. My symptoms vary from day to day and I'm still on the same aggressive treatment plan as I was when I filed and was finally approved for disability. I have been able to stay out of the Hospital for over a year, thank God, but my disease is still so unpredictable even when things are going well.

I have year before it's due so guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. No use in thinking about it too much now.
