Embarrassing question for the ladies
Hi girls
This is really an embarrassing question, but have any of you experienced electrical-like sensations - like a stab, jolt or pulse in their 'nether regions'? I am, and although it is not exactly painful, it feels weird, is only on one side, and mostly kind of on the outside. The barest brush with clothing or touch brings it on, it only lasts for a moment after a touch and I am totally confuzzled. I would appreciate your candour. Thanks Lyn __________________ Lyn Multiple Sclerosis 2001 Brain Aneurysm clipped 2004 :o |
I've only gotten in my back, leg and or shoulder area, but can imagine it in the neither land. Mine eventually went away, hope yours does too.

I have never been able to explain it well, but sometimes it feels like I have a big ol wooden splinter where one doesnt belong. that is the best way I know how to put it. it lasts a few hours and then goes away. I have had it on and off for years, and when I mentioned it to GYN she really checked and found nothing, and then gave me that face...you know the one. "whats wrong with you?"
I hope you feel better. |
I hate sensory sx. I often don't even mention them to anyone because nobody can possibly understand unless they've experienced it themselves. I hope yours goes away soon. It's annoying anywhere but "there" has got to be the worst. :o

I totally get what you are saying, I am having that feeling as well, when I walk, sit or stand up. I thought I was just going nuts, but it has been around (along with the other sensations I have described) for a week or so now. Too weird and too embarrassing. Thanks ladies for being so open with me. Lyn |
I've had something similar happen once - kind of like a pager going off. It's all sensory but so annoying. Neuro just looked at me when I explained it.:p But hey, it happens. She did mention that hormones can do that as well. Just something to keep in mind.

I keep doing this "clenching" thing. like a kegal exercise, but its not voluntary. I shift in my seat, and rock on my bum, and try to make it stop. I have to sometimes simply focus on my breathing and my yoga to force it to relax. Like the floor of my pelvis belongs to someone else and my body is trying to adjust it to fit me. wild stuff.

This "breaking down" wiring we have sure does crazy things at times.
I have a small breast fibroid and when I press on it/bump it( by leaning over something) it sends an electric shock to my left side "nether region". My right butt cheek has a mind of it's own or a small alien trying to break out... it will start twitching at times. Of course it always happens when you can't slap a hand there to try to stop the weird feelings!:D So all I can do is just laugh and keep going. |
OMG yes!! For me it feels like when you stick your tongue on a 9 volt battery. Neurontin helps. I get it all over but it is especially annoying down there.
Wait til one side just goes completely numb. That is a fun one. You feel off balanced when you sit. |
You betcha I've had this happen. Thankfully not very often, but VERY uncomfortable, and as you mention, it's a fleeting 'there for a moment, gone the next' feeling. Not pleasant!
