Today is my daughter Pam's birthday. She would have been 49 had she lived. I miss her.

Pam was talented, intuitive, kind, generous and so much more. She loved animals and had 4 cats and a dog. She owned her own house and took great joy in decorating it. I remember she painted the old hardwood floor in the dining room - it was a beautiful flower design. I often wonder what the new owners did with it - whether they loved it or hated it. Pam was diagnosed with MS in 1997. She had a very responsible job at Herman Miller in Holland. She worked as long as she could then retired. She had to stop driving then started using a wheelchaair. She was still active on her computer. She had a website visited by a myriad of interesting people. In 2001 we decided that it would be better if she not live alone. I took early retirement and moved from South Bend to her house in Holland. I was with her for two years until she passed away in 2003. I am so glad I had that time with her.

Did you ever take pics of her unique floor? - or does it simply remain in your memories for ever and ever. She certainly was ambitious to undertake such a masterpiece! What a horrible shame that MS took so much from her and her loved ones... :grouphug:

No, I never took pictures of the floor - I thought we'd enjoy it forever.

I can't even imagine and never want to know the pain of losing a child. I am so glad that you were able to be with her, I'm sure it was a comfort to you both!

Happy Birthday Pam! You left your mark on the world and are now on the other side leaving your mark there as well!
