Space Shuttle
I haven't done this for a while - next shuttle launch is Friday. 2:37 pm central time, which means my normal pre-flight meeting will actually be during normal working hours for a change (10:37 am).
Landing is still scheduled for May 13, but this will not happen. We have NEVER done anything significant, like landing or launching, on a Friday the 13th. Seriously. We say we will, but we never do. This is the "extra flight". STS-134 was supposed to be the last shuttle mission but AMS got funded, so we have another mission STS-135, launching June 26th. I'm the only mission manager for center ops now so the last 4 or 5 missions have been mine. Tom |
Hadn't heard from you for a while. Best wishes for all involved. Gabby is supposed to be at Kennedy for the launch.

God bless our space shuttle missions. I have been watching all my life, since the early gemini rockets. My dad was an Electric engineer for the gov. as a civilian. He worked on alot of projects that he never did tell mom and me about. He taught me a great respect for all our missions in space. I hope the usa. goes forward into space on other differnent missions. Gabby I hope is at this next launch for her husband. I will be watching from my fla. home. ginnie

Thanks for checking in. As an Arizonian, this shuttle is special to me at least as Cdr. Kelly is flying AND Gabby will be at the launch, AND it's the last one.
So, since my cousin's husband Todd E. works near you, what is his involvment in this launch? On a totally different subject, do you know how much each shuttle launch costs? :) Earl |
Thanks for keeping us up on things, Tom. How are ya, honey?
