RLS, cramps, PN
Hello,
I am a 71 year old female with rheumatoid arthritis. I was diagnosed with non-diabetic peripheral neuropathy last year. After much physical therapy, I can walk almost normally. I've always had twitchy legs, and nocturnal leg cramps, and my neuro says that I have Restless Leg Syndrome. The twitchiness doesn't really bother me but the nighttime cramps are horrible. I need advice! Gramma |

Hope this helps. Take care |
Thank you Melody!
I do have Epsom Salts in the house and I will try that tonight. I talked to my neuro this morning because the cramps were getting intolerable, and he convinced me to try mirapex. He insists that it will help with the cramps, pain, and restless legs. So we'll see... Thanks for the advice. :) Gramma |

Back again, am I still a newbie?
Thanks for all the information I have found on this board.
I have discontinued Remicade (fortunately RA is in remission) and my leg pain and cramping seems to be plain ole motor neuropathy instead of the more exotic RLS. :winky: It is most likely caused by my RA, but was exacerbated by Remicade. So I've started Gabapentin, and it seems to be working well, as long as I don't go over 900 mg/day. I'll start looking through the forums to see how other members handle motor neuropathy with fasciculations and cramping. Thanks again for the warm welcome I received. Gramma |
