I am taking a moment...

To give myself a pat on the back. I have done some pretty stupid things in my life, but I can say I did one thing right. DD turned 7 today. I am working my behind off trying to get the steaks seasoned and the cake is in the oven.

I began thinking about how great DD is and how she has adapted all of my good qualities and I have to say I am a very proud mom. She does great in school, she is a nurturer, she donates her toys to charity and she knows the value of helping others. She also knows if you want something you have to work for it, she has excelled in everyting she has tried because she does not accept failure.

Unfortunately, she did get a few of my bad traits, like refusing to clean her room, tripping on flat surfaces, and she has my sense of humor. But we love her anyway!

She really is a great kid. I hate seeing her grow up so fast, but it really is a pleasure to watch her turn into this little person.

Happy Birthday Kiddo! Make mom give you extra cake, and you get to stay up late tonight, and you dont have to take a bath! HA!

You did good Sam.

2 layer strawberry cake with strawberries in the center. Will post pic when it is done. Oh, but yes, she will need a bath. After steaks and bbq chicken and all that cake. Besides she is getting new bath stuff for her birthday.

I might let her play with my bubble mat though. :D

I have to say I thought her dad having her this weekend would ruin things, but I have had all day to clean and cook and run to the store and wrap presents. It has been kind of nice not being on a time crunch.

The only problem is... mother nature has decided to send rain to celebrate too. Of course I get to stand out in the rain and grill steaks. It's what she wants for dinner.

LOL We are SOOOOO going out to dinner next year!

Strawberry cake. It came out pretty cute considering I have ran out of spoons about an hour ago.

Aww thats such a sweet post, Legz! From what i've read about your daughter she seems like such a nice person, your soo lucky! I think sometimes dealing with illnesses from such a young age can help ... my nanan had MS from when I was a baby so I adapted to illnesses quickly and learnt to help out.

Happy Birthday to your daughter! Give her a big hug from me and eat plenty of cake! :D

HAPPY 7TH BIRTHDAY MADISON

Momma Sam's little sweet angel. Yes, you are very lucky to have such a wonderful daughter. But then I'm sure you set a great example for her. :)

Now can we have some of that decadent cake? :grouphug:

one down side to dad having her first...she was already caked out when she got here. She did love the ice cream sundae kit though. There is still about 2/3 or the cake leftover. Come get it.

Happy Birthday Madison!!!
