HIGH DOSE (1200)LYrica - your thoughts
 

OK - I'm desperate. I've been in bed most of the time the past few days. Excruciating back pain. Still from that epidural given to me 4 years ago. I also have the burning mouth pain from the chloral hydrate. Have severe fibro. and RSD, allodynia and hyperalagesia. Remember me- no meds(25 ) have worked for the pain including this recent namenda.
I have found a local neurologist who wants to start me on 25 mg. a day of lyrica and work up slowly. He has his patients on 1200 lyrica. My Dr. who has given me the 25 meds with no relief is not into this type of treatment. He is my Dr. that I see weekly for injections and is extrememly knowledgeable about meds. Phd. neuroscience.:confused:
What is your thought on the high dose lyrica? I am out of my mind with pain. The lower back is excruciating. I can barely think - I am in so much pain. Then there are times when it goes into a mysterious remission. Dr. says it is fibro and nerve pain from the epidural. Cannot walk or stand for more than a few minutes. It is destroying my life. Had to cancel several engagements as I can't even walk and the pain is so severe.
Any thoughts on high doses? It appears that I am polymorphic - thus no meds at the standard doses help.
Please please please any thoughts.
