Hello

Hey folks im new to this forum. I joined to see if i could get some insight on some things. I had a protruding herniated disk in my back and messed up t6t7. well after 6 months of differnet treatments. I went ahead with spinal fusion on the 20 of April. well its almost been 3 weeks and i still in a alot of pain. Not feeling the original pain, however i Have a 6 inch scar on my spine and ALL the Muscles in my back all away around my right side. does anyone have any ideas about the amount of time for recoverery? i have heard from few weeks to almost a year. I have long term disability so concerned with that. I am most interested in knowing how long before the pain subsides. I know the recover time might be extensive before i can return to work, but like i say when does the pain become barable?

it takes about six weeks for you to be able to start to think about trying normal things like sitting comfortably on the potty, or trying to pull your shoe to your lap to tie it. or to sit at the breakfast table without counting the mintues till you can leave and sit in the comfy chair.

Please stick with your PT and OT and work hard. The more work you put into it now, the better the results later.

Im sorry you had to go thru that, but its over, and now you can start walking towards your future!
