Last summer was miserable for me, but it was also right after my TBI.

I'm curious what warmer weather means. I didn't react well to air conditioners either. Being cold could be a problem as well, and central heating.

Maybe discomfort or shifts of any kind are enough to affect the brain in this state. Unfortunate...

Any heat!

Hi, yes with warmer weather I tend to have more headaches. I tend not to notice that I am overly hot or cold until I am at the extreme. My thermostat doesn't seem to regulate anymore.

An overly warm room at any time of the year will give me a headache.

Even a glass or part glass of red wine gives me a headache. I now don't drink any alcohol.

When I was still pushing myself to work I used to keep my office on the lowest temperature possible as it was easier to think with a chilled brain - the clients tended not to stay too long though. My fingers would be blue and I wouldn't realise until it was pointed out to me.

I now try to avoid heat whenever possible.

I agree! warmer weather increases my headaches

Hello,

Yes! Warmer weather does cause an increase in headaches and brain fog.
There is a major difference if I go in the sun.

I live in Hawaii (yes it's beautiful) but it is very difficult with PCS.

I need to have sunglasses at all times, have blinds on my windows, wear a hat, walk outside only in the morning and evening, etc.

Now I can only sit in the shade at the beach with a hat, sunglasses, a rashguard and can't last long.

You know that wonderful feeling you get when you lay in the sun? I wish I could feel that way again:)

Also, life here revolves around the beach so if you can't go, it is hard.

I got my injury Nov 20 2010. winter did not seem to bother me .in less I was shivering cold.rapid change of elevation and rise in blood pressure bothers me.I live in nebraska so it has only got up to 80 degrees lately .that was enough to make my brain feel like it was swelling and my skull plate was expanding .anything that causes profuse sweating does me in. this sucks I am an outdoorsman .

wow...I didn't even think of this. I was in the sun last week ..thur and fri ..laying on a lounge chair and felt awful. I just thought it was from what I did the day before.

I guess I'll be bringing my eye mask (love that thing!).

This is going to be a problem...we have a pool...and kids have to be watched in it!! Bad enough they are a lot of commotion for me...and will cause a headache..now the sun too!!

115 on the heat index. Feeling like my head is in a 360 DEGREE vise. it's quite discombobulating. Even air conditioning only helps some .any buddy have any suggestions . On how to beat this problem .

I have the same problem too with headaches in the hot weather. I use a long ice bag that can wrap around the back of my neck and sometimes I also use ice packs behind my knees on the inside of the bend or just under my feet...It helps a lot.

Hope you find relief soon...This hot spell looks like it might hang-on for a bit longer.

It is a good excuse to have an :icecream: therapeutic treat :winky:
