Depression and other bad thoughts

Short history : suffered sports concussion on March 5th knocked out on a few seconds, suffered another concussion on April 30th out cold for 30 sec. and in out for a min or so. Anyway alone with all my symptoms I am experiencing I am starting to deal with feeling extreamly depressed and having major anger out burst. I have also been having some not so healthy thoughts like the I just don't want to be around anymore thoughts. Not to worry they are just thoughts I would NEVER act on. Has anybody else had these issues.

If you look at the rest of my post you will see a more detail account of what I have been dealing with. :(

Xoe22,

You need to discuss these thoughts with your doctor. The "Not to worry" comment is fine for now but depression is a process that can be hard to stop once started. Depression is a very common symptoms of PCS.

The doctor can help you.

You also need to have someone who you can frequently discuss your thoughts with who can help look out for your best interests.

Don't dismiss the risks of depression. Reach out for help while your mind is working well enough to reach out. Later, it will withdraw and reaching out will be problematic.

My bets to you.

I agree with Mark. Just talk to your doctor about it and have someone close to you help you make sure you are doing okay. HOpefully you will just slide right by the depression and grab onto things to look forward to.

I know I have had some feelings of being down just because I have PCS. How could you not? but i haven't had depression per se. Some feelings of not liking this PCS I would think is totally normal.

Thanks guys for the response. I told the doc I was depressed but he did not seem to concerned with it. I have also confided in a close friend. I just keep reminding myself that its all due to the concussion and as I heal things will get better.
