Help for the uninsured

So I have something like third -party insurance and it has not helped at all. I am paying everything out of pocket. What can I do? I want to go to the concussion center here in my town. Has anybody gone up a concussion center? How much are you having to pay to get treatment?

What are you expecting the concussion center to offer?

There is not much they can do but tell you that you do not have a dangerous injury.

What symptoms are giving you the most problems?

Other than meds for anxiety of pain/head aches, there is not much the clinic can do that we cannot direct you to here.

Mark,
I have no clue, I was thinking maybe they could help me in some kind of way. I'm still dealing with the bad headaches and the dizziness and a few other things. But the headaches and dizziness are the worse of my problems. I'm not extremely dizzy but it hits me with no warning so I am still not able to drive. I want to be able to go about my normal activities without feeling horrible. For example I went to eat and went to one store with my sister. Since I got home I have spent hours in bed with the worse headache and feeling extremely exhausted.

I am a coach and been out of workout this past year. I have a few opportunities to start working again come Aug.I am very worried that I will not be able to do my job in this condition.

I guess getting two severe concussions in less them two months can jack you up a bit.

Xoe,

I don't want to be a bearer of bad tidings, but I still have head aches. They usually are not a big deal but some times, they do interrupt my activities. I got up this morning at 8:00 with a head ache. So, I had a snack and Tylenol and snuggled up in my recliner and slept til 12 noon. I still have the head ache just not a strong.

Coaching sounds like a tall order for someone with PCS. The chaos/excitement/stress of a game will be the toughest to deal with.

I wish I had some good advice for you, but.....

My best to you.
